Pupils and staff at Stanground located on Peterborough Road and part of Greenwood Academies Trust, are celebrating receiving their A Level grades today.

The Academy is pleased to announce a year of excellent results for pupils, despite the challenges they have faced over the last two years, as a result of the pandemic. Pupils’ determination and hard work has meant many have achieved strong results and will now progress onto their chosen next steps in higher education, jobs or apprenticeships.

Subjects that saw particular success at the Academy include Sociology, Art and Further Maths where students all achieved an average grade of an A. Media Studies, a BTEC award where 85% of students achieved a Distinction grade or better.

Overall, the Academy achieved results ahead of expectation and we are so proud of our pupils.

Matthew Van Lier, Principal at Stanground, said:

“Our pupils are amazing; they have experienced more disruption to their education than any other generation and despite this they have delivered a set of results that make the Stanground Team feel incredibly proud. The vast majority will go onto their first or second place university and thankfully only one student will have to experience clearing. I cannot thank the pupils and staff enough for all of their commitment, resilience and hard work to deliver these results and we look forward to observing how they become successful citizens of the future.
