Stanground Academy

Travel

If at all possible, we would urge you to help your child to practice their route to school.

Bus, Bike, or Walking

Where possible, we hope they will walk, ride their bike or take public transport.

If your child is walking to Stanground Academy, please walk with them on their expected route to make sure that they are confident about this before the start of term. We want to make sure that both you and your child are happy and with peace of mind. We also recommend that your child walks with friends to ensure that they are safe at all times - plan this before the start of term too.

Stagecoach operate two buses that stop outside the academy on Peterborough Road. You can find the timetable for the number 5 and number 5A buses below. Alternatively, you can use Stagecoach's route planner.

There are bike sheds located in the yard at the back of the academy. Please ensure that they have a working bike lock to keep their bike safe whilst on site. Students are able to use the bike shed before and after school only, unless specified otherwise (i.e. appointments and early academy closures).

Car Pick-Up

The roads near the Academy can become very busy and congested at the end of the school day. If you can avoid collecting your child by car, we would very much appreciate it. If this is not possible, please drive carefully, park sensibly (and with respect to our neighbours) and be thoughtful of others - please leave disabled car parking spaces to those who need them, as we have students that have Blue Badges.

If you are collecting your child by car, please use our generous sized car park (and the adjoining overspill car park located at our Stanground Sports Centre) where possible, ensuring to park in bays and not block the access and exit roads.

Please note that there is a one-way system in place within our car park to control the flow of traffic and avoid congestion as much as possible.
